![]() BISHOP PAYS A VISIT TO THE BREWERYBishop Bob, Bishop of Credition graced us, local dignitaries and over 50 local farmers with his presence at the brewery on a beautiful sunny day recently. The Bishop was flown into Dunkerswell Airfield, paid the local aero club a visit and then made haste to the brewery for a brewing lesson and some refreshment. It transpired that the father of Sue Tucker, who is the Diocesan Rural Officer (the Bishop's side kick), had worked with Mary Ann's father at Stroud Brewery in the 60's - a small world indeed. After the tour around the brewery, the Bishop emerged through an electric door from the new underground cellar where he met the entourage, and also appeared to enjoy a pint of the new Otter Amber. After a very pleasant couple of hours of chat and a few more pints enjoyed by the farmers, Bishop Bob said a quick prayer, hopped in his car and was off to Farway for the next leg of his East Devon visit. A memorable day was had by all with a happy Bishop, farmers and a newly blessed cellar. Oh yes, I suppose we should mention thanks to all helpers including Kate, from the Holt and Smoking Jacket Foods who laid on a delightful spread of their smoked foods - ‘What a dish for the Bish'. |
