2016 RURAL BUSINESS AWARDSIn October we were shortlisted in the Rural Business Awards for 'Best Food & Drink Business' in the UK. We didn't manage a win this time but still felt extremely proud on the night that we had reached the final four in our category and were able to represent East Devon on a national stage.
The aim of the Rural Business Awards is to give recognition to businesses operating right across the Rural sector. The CLA define rural businesses as fitting into three broad categories - Land Based businesses, Land Related Businesses and Other Businesses located in rural areas. Together it is the broadest celebration of rural business in the UK.
Tarka, Devon's first pure lager, led our entry and helped to show the judges that small or medium sized regional food and drink companies can in fact take on multinational brands in a certain sector whilst also being mindful of the environment and staying true to their founding principles.
