November HolidayAt the end of November David and I had a week off and were kindly asked to go and see St Austell Brewery whilst we were down in Cornwall.We were staying on a long boat... fresh would be a good word late in the year, it was very cosy with the log burner going all day, but it took me back to childhood days when your head feels cold outside the bed clothes at night!! We were royally looked after at the brewery and Roger, head brewer, took us around, and his spark of enthusiasm was equalled by ours, the questions never stopped flowing and answers given at high speed as we would never have finished the day otherwise! Photo shows Patrick who can never resist a good toy. It is a lift for full casks to be stacked with. Adrian Staley, who Patrick works with (my father also worked with his father), fed us brilliantly in their visitor centre. One day I hope our Pavilion can be as good as their building. Chocolate brownies to die for!!! Thank you to everyone who made it such a good visit. |
