A Slow Food get together

On Thursday as expected our Middle barn filled up with a group of wonderous foodies who wanted to know how we made our beer. We had to do lunch time in two shifts as not enough spaces round the table otherwise!

So having fed our lot, a quick scurry round and Gus and Kate from The Holt and Smoking Jacket Foods, covered the table with their mouth watering foods. Smoked duck and chicken, prawns and salmon, glorious home made breads and relishes all washed down by beer and hours of chat. Kate also brought with her a bag in which was a pack of spices for curing 1kg of belly pork for Christmas bacon. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Smoking Jacket Foods

What a great set up the Slow Food movement is and how lucky we are to have such genuine people looking after it for us. Hopefully it will continue to grow.
